Are you Ready to Soar into the New Millennium?

We all experience psychological pain at one point or another in our lives and careers. Some of our anguish is for actions we've taken that we've ended up regretting, but most of our regret is usually generated by not seizing opportunities for change. Here's a brief self-diagnostic "test" that will help you determine how ready you are to revivolute your life:

1. The Future: How clear are you on what's coming in the next 2 to 3 years? In your job? In your Career? In your business? In your personal life?

1. I've got it wired. I understand perfectly what's going to happen in the next few years.
2. The crystal ball is pretty clear. I can see most of what's coming in the next few years.
3. The crystal ball is pretty cloudy. I can see some of what's coming, but there are big dark cloudy spots as well.
4. I lost my crystal ball. I know things will be different, and I have some general idea about how, but I'm not clear about the details.
5. I haven't a clue. Point me in the direction of the nearest soothsayer.

2. Your Readiness: How prepared are you for what's coming in the next 2 to 3 years? Are you ready for your next job? The next step in your career? The new demands in your business? The changes in your personal life?

1. Bring on the future, I'm ready now!
2. I'm almost ready. I've got a plan and I'm more than half done with it.
3. I've got a plan, and I've done a few things. I'm on the road, but there's a long way yet to go.
4. I'm thinking about putting a plan together and then getting started soon.
5. Who needs a plan. Whatever is going to happen will happen - and when it does I'll do something about it.

3. The Present: [Frustration]How satisfied are you with the your current situation? How satisfied are you with your job? Your career? your business? your personal life?

1. I'm ecstatic with it all. Couldn't be better!
2. I'm pleased with most things in my current life, but ... some things could be better.
3. Life's not too bad. Some things are working, others are not. Could be better. Could be worse also.
4. Things are pretty bad. I've got to change a lot around here to make it okay.
5. Life sucks!

4. Your Legacy: Are you clear on what you want to leave behind and how you want to be remembered and are you on track to deliver that legacy? Are you satisfied with the legacy you'll leave behind: in your job? Your career? Your business? Your personal life?

1. Everything's golden. My legacy is in place now!
2. I'm mostly clear on my legacy, I have a plan to create it and I'm working on it.
3. Most of the time I think I know how I want to be remembered, but other times its not clear to me. I'm still figuring out what I need to do to create that legacy.
4. I think about my legacy from time to time, and once I figure it out I'll decide what I need to do to create it.
5. What legacy? I'm too busy with handling the day-to-day stuff to worry about it.

5. Your Customers: Do you know what your "customers" want/ need from you? Do you know what your boss REALLY wants/needs? Your internal and external customers? Your family? Your friends?

1. I've got a clear picture of what they all want/need - and I consistently deliver it
2. I understand what most of them want/need - and I usually am able to give them what they ask for.
3. My picture is a little fuzzy. I know what some of my "customers" want/need - but there's more that I don't know than I do know. So, I often disappoint my "customers."
4. I'm working on identifying my "customers" and finding out what they want/need. It's difficult and I'm struggling.
5. What customers? I'm too busy getting my regular work done to devote much time and attention to this task.
